World Blood Donor Day
Every year on 14 June, countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day. World Blood Donor Day has been celebrated annually since 2004, with the aim of improving the safety and adequacy of national blood supplies by promoting a substantial increase in the number of safe, voluntary, unpaid donors who give blood regularly.
In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. Many Americans celebrate Flag Day by displaying the Red, White and Blue in front of homes and businesses.
