International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Rwanda Genocide

On December 23, 2003, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution designating April 7, the start date of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, as the International Day of Reflection on the Genocide in Rwanda. Every year, on or around that date, the United Nations organizes commemorative events at its Headquarters in New York and at United Nations offices around the world.

World Health Day

World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on April 7, under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization. World Health Day is held to celebrate the founding of the World Health Organization and is seen as an opportunity draw worldwide attention to a particular subject of major importance to global health each year.

National Beer Day

National Beer Day is celebrated in the United States every year on April 7, marking the day that the Cullen-Harrison Act was enacted after having been signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on March 22, 1933. Although the Cullen-Harrison Act was not the official end of prohibition in the U.S., the law allowed people to buy, sell and drink beer containing up to 3.2% alcohol by weight (or 4.05% by volume).
