International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
From November 25 through December 10, Human Rights Day, the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence aim to raise public awareness and mobilizing people everywhere to bring about change. The premise of the day is to raise awareness of the fact that women around the world are subject to rape, domestic violence and other forms of violence.

National Day of Mourning
"Thanksgiving day is a reminder of the genocide of millions of Native people, the theft of Native lands, and the relentless assault on Native culture. Participants in National Day of Mourning honor Native ancestors and the struggles of Native peoples to survive today. It is a day of remembrance and spiritual connection as well as a protest of the racism and oppression which Native Americans continue to experience". Visit UAINE.org for more information.
