World Intellectual Property Day
Every April 26, we celebrate World Intellectual Property Day to learn about the role that intellectual property rights (patents, trademarks, industrial designs, copyright) play in encouraging innovation and creativity. April 26 was chosen as the date for World Intellectual Property Day because it coincides with the date on which the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization entered into force in 1970.
National Kids and Pets Day
National Kids and Pets Day was created in 2005 by Celebrity Family & Pet Lifestyle Expert, mother, pet lover and former EMT/Medic, Colleen Paige. National Kids and Pets Day is dedicated to furthering the magical bond between children and animals, to help bring awareness to the plight of pets in shelters awaiting new homes and educating the public about safety between children and pets.
National Richter Scale Day
Richter Scale Day celebrates the birth of the inventor of the Richter Scale, Charles F. Richter, on April 26, 1900. The Richter scale assigns a magnitude number to quantify the size of an earthquake. The Richter scale, developed in the 1930s, is a base-10 logarithmic scale, which defines magnitude as the logarithm of the ratio of the amplitude of the seismic waves to an arbitrary, minor amplitude.
