National Pet Day
National Pet Day is celebrated annually on April 11. It was founded in 2006 by Pet and Family Lifestyle Expert, Animal Welfare Advocate Colleen Paige, to celebrate the joy pets bring to our lives and to create public awareness about the plight of many different kinds of animals awaiting a forever home in shelters and rescues all around the globe.
National Eight Track Tape Day
The Eight Track Tape recording system was popular from the mid-1960s to the late 1970s. The eight track tape consisted of an endless loop of standard 1/4-inch magnetic tape, housed in a plastic cartridge. On the tape were eight parallel soundtracks, corresponding to four stereo programs.
National Barber Shop Quartet Day
"April 11 marks the annual celebration of the venerable Barbershop Quartet and the uniquely-American art form of close harmony it continues to bring to the world. Founded on April 11, 1938, the Barbershop Harmony Society has made it its mission for the past 78 years to preserve and encourage Barbershop quartet singing in America and abroad, and together with our sisters in harmony we continue doing just that".
