National Cake Day

In 2015, British designer Debbie Wingham crafted the world's most expensive cake. It was six feet long, 1,000 pounds and depicted a fashion runway. The cake featured 4,000 diamonds which helped bring the total cost to a whopping $72 million.

Thanksgiving, observed on the fourth Thursday of November, was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year.

National Day of Mourning

"Thanksgiving day is a reminder of the genocide of millions of Native people, the theft of Native lands, and the relentless assault on Native culture. Participants in National Day of Mourning honor Native ancestors and the struggles of Native peoples to survive today. It is a day of remembrance and spiritual connection as well as a protest of the racism and oppression which Native Americans continue to experience". Visit for more information.
