National American Red Cross Founder’s Day
Clara Barton and a circle of her acquaintances founded the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C. on May 21, 1881. The American Red Cross is dedicated to helping people in need throughout the United States and, in association with other Red Cross networks, throughout the world.
World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development
In 2002, the United Nations General Assembly, declared May 21 to be the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. The day provides us with an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the values of cultural diversity and learn how to live together in harmony.
