National Weatherperson's Day


National Weatherperson's Day is observed on the birthday of John Jeffries, one of the United States' first weather observers, born on February 5th, 1744. On this day, we recognize individuals in the fields of meteorology, weather forecasting and broadcast meteorology, as well as volunteer storm spotters and observers.

National Shower with a Friend Day


With the dwindling daylight, the cold weather, and feelings of loneliness, National Shower with a Friend Day is meant to inject some humor into the winter season while also serving to educate people on the benefits of showering in fresh, filtered water.

Chinese New Year


Chinese New Year, known in modern Chinese as the "Spring Festival," usually falls on the second new moon after the winter solstice. The New Year starts at the beginning of this lunar calendar and ends with Lantern Festival, on the 15th day.
