National Tradesmen Day

National Tradesmen Day, initiated by Irwin Tools, honors the men and women who work with their hands to build America and keep it running strong. It is celebrated each year on the third Friday in September.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day

According to the National League of POW/MIA Families, this annual event honors those who were prisoners of war along with our missing service members and their families. The day highlights the government's commitment to account for them.

National Pecan Cookie Day

Pecan is an Algonquian word, meaning "a nut requiring a stone to crack". A member of the hickory family, the pecan is native to central and southern United States.

International Day of Peace
