National Red Rose Day


Each year on June 12, we observe National Red Rose Day. In June, red roses, symbols of love and romance, are in bloom in flower gardens across the United States. The June birth flower is the rose.

National Jerky Day


National Jerky Day was created in 2012 by meat snack company Jack Link's. Jerky is lean meat that has been trimmed of fat, cut into strips, and then dried to prevent spoilage.

National Peanut Butter Cookie Day


National Loving Day


Loving Day is an annual celebration held on June 12, the anniversary of the 1967 United States Supreme Court decision Loving v. Virginia which struck down all anti-miscegenation laws remaining in sixteen U.S. States. Anti-miscegenation laws enforced racial segregation at the level of marriage and intimate relationships by criminalizing interracial marriage and sometimes also sex between members of different races.

World Day Against Child Labour


The International Labour Organization launched the World Day Against Child Labour in 2002 to focus attention on the global extent of child labour and the action and efforts needed to eliminate it. Each year on June 12, governments, employers and workers organizations, civil society, as well as millions of people from around the world come together to highlight the plight of child laborers and what can be done to help them.
