National Nut Day

Some of the most popular "culinary" nuts include hazelnuts, almonds, pecans, pistachios, and walnuts.

National Color Day

It is hard to imagine the world without color. Without color, we would nearly be blind. Doctors check for health through the color of a patientís skin. On a late, cool autumn morning, sparkling frost and leaves changing from green to vermillion signal a change of seasons. A flush of color in the cheeks of friend sends a cue of her embarrassment. The street light turns from green to yellow, to red. In the Grand Canyon layers of sediment range in color from black to pale ash. All these signs alert us to change through color.

International Stuttering Awareness Day

International Stuttering Awareness Day has been celebrated every October 22nd since 1998. According to The Stuttering Foundation, more than 70 million people worldwide stutter, which is about 1% of the population. Those that have a stuttering issue can get treated with speech therapy.
