National LGBT Center Awareness Day


Created by CenterLink: The Community of LGBT Centers, Center Awareness Day is an annual day of awareness promoting the vital services offered by community centers and the central role they play in local communities. Centers continue to build, unite, and empower the LGBT community by offering services including; social services, mental health counseling, cultural programs, recreational activities, libraries, educational programs, support groups, youth support, elder support, computer access, and care and treatment.

National Seafood Bisque Day


Seafood bisque is a smooth, creamy and highly-seasoned soup of French origin. Based on a strained broth of crustaceans, it is made from lobster, crab, shrimp or crayfish.

National Mammography Day


National Mammography Day is observed on the third Friday in October and was first proclaimed by President Bill Clinton in 1993 to encourage women to make a mammography appointment.
