National Fire Pup Day


This day is used to honor our four legged firefighters. Firehouse dogs, typically Dalmatians, are used more as mascots today. Before automobiles, these dogs would run alongside horse drawn wagons carrying the firefighters and stand guard while they fought to extinguish the inferno.

National Hispanic Month begins September 15th and ends on October 15th. It is used to celebrate Hispanic and Latino Americans' heritage, culture and contributions to the United States.

National Apple Month

National Pizza Month


October was dubbed 'National Pizza Month' in 1984 by Gerry Durnell. Gerry was the founder of Pizza Today Magazine and chose October because it was the same month his first issue debuted.

National Child Health Day


Enacted by Congress in 1928, Child Health Day is observed on the first Monday in October. On this day, the president invites all agencies and organizations interested in child welfare to unite on Child Health Day in observing exercises that will make the people of the United States aware of the fundamental necessity of a year-round program to protect and develop the health of the children of the United States.
